We have measurement charts for each designer that we carry. Gowns and dresses are made according to the size chart, not custom to your measurements. Therefore you may need a few alterations about a month before the wedding, to make it a perfect fit. Bridal gowns and bridesmaid dresses are cut according to a couture size chart and run smaller than the ready to wear clothing you buy at the mall. Most brides and bridesmaids order a dress 1-2 sizes larger than they usually wear, and that is normal. Keep in mind that extra size fees apply to certain sizes, and if you are over 5’9” you may have to order extra length which may also be an extra fee.
A bridal dress and bridesmaid dress is typically ordered using a person's biggest measurements, so you will likely buy dresses at least a size larger than they normally wear. If you want to buy a size smaller, know that it is easier to alter a dress down than to let it out (Note: Some dresses cannot be let out).
We compare your bust, waist, and hip measurements to the designer’s size chart. It’s very important that you order the largest size that corresponds to your measurements. We recommend that all bridesmaids choose their size based on their largest measurement. . The dresses are NOT custom made. The bridesmaid gowns are not made to your bridesmaids measurements; our vendors cut the dress based on their size chart. Ultimately, YOU must choose the size dress you want to order!
